I got an email from a guy asking why I sent him $4k. (Thank GOD I checked my junk mail!) I had no clue who the guy was, but I in fact had an email from Paypal with details of a transaction.I closed my browser, cleared all history, and went directly to Paypal's secure URL. Low and behold, "I had bid on" a vehicle auction, some shitty old Ford Bronco? Oh HELL no. I had bought something off Ebay the month before, and it was a shady forced "marketplace" payment. (That Ebay should NOT allow) I mean, I bid, win, then find out I have to go to some (apparently unsecure) marketplace? In any case, someone falsely accessed my Ebay and Paypal, paid out $4k, and ticked me off. I went directly to my bank and put a stop-payment on Paypal before they actually accessed the funds. I made a case with Paypal and they said they'd "hold off" on drawing funds until the investigation was over. I said "Fine. Either way I have a stop payment against you and you won't be getting it" and that was that. (Later judgement in my favor anyway)
